Hemlock Grove’s second season gets a trailer!

Netflix’s HEMLOCK GROVE was met with mixed reception a year ago, but the bottomline is that it was watched by a ton of folks, so many in fact that netflix quickly green-lit a second season. The new season debuts on July 11th in the usual “every episode available day 1″ format.  Now we have a trailer to get a sneak peek at what is in store….

Your eyes may focus now as FX releases a full trailer for The Strain!

TV spot after TV spot….that was how it went for FX’s new horror series THE STRAIN.

For those of us unfamiliar with the comic, we were eagerly awaiting to get a better look and idea of what we have in store when the series kicks off it’s 13 episode first season on July 13th….wait no longer as a trailer has finally been released!

Dying Light gets a new trailer at E3, plus a new release date that will delay the dying.

Awhile back we mentioned the new PS4 game DYING LIGHT, it was pretty close to it’s original release date back in April. In fact, when I bought a PS4, this was my first intended purchase besides what I picked up with the console.  With a mere few days to go before it’s release, news had hit that it was being pushed back.  Not sure the exact reason why.  Could it have to do with fatigue due to DEAD ISLAND and DI: RIPTIDE recently coming out?  Truth be told, DYING LIGHT certainly looks like a next-gen version of the DEAD ISLAND games. Not that it’s a bad thing, I had fun with DEAD ISLAND, and even more of a blast with RIPTIDE due to playing most of co-op with my brother in law.

The Light will not be Dying in 2014…..boo!

The good news is there is a brand new trailer for DYING LIGHT that is full of zombie carnage, destruction, & gore.  The bad news?  The release date now stands at February 2015. I hope the new trailer cheers up those who were expecting the game to come sooner…check it out below!

Constantine’s tv series trailer is pretty impressive

Had no idea what to expect going into watching this. I wasn’t overly-enthused at the thought of a Constantine tv series, not that I wouldn’t have given it a chance. (This is our job on this website/podcast after all, right?) I think my main fear was that we were getting another lowercase “h” horror show, and while the trailer doesn’t 100% absolve that potential from happening, I do really like what I saw. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think….

Constatine airs this fall on NBC (no premiere date yet)

“Not So Evil” Sidecast #12 Meat, Al, & Alice

Welcome back to the Not-So-Evil Sidecast!

This month we take a look at a few movies that star musicians in lead rolls which didn’t necessarily lead to more parts in the world of cinema, (and for good reason for the most part). Iris is back again to join myself, Doug, and Jeff as we dissect Roadie, Monster Dog, & UHF. I’ll give you one guess as to which of these three movies was universally loved by the panel.

A&E adds to their horror genre lineup with an American remake of THE RETURNED

The Returned, a French “zombie” horror-drama that aired on IFC earlier this year. One in which my DVR decided to stop recording for reasons unknown, but which is now on netflix for me to watch-a-thon out at anytime, (Yessss) is getting an American remake on A&E which already is home to Bates Motel & Those Who Kill (well, kind of).  Horror and Horror-lite seems to be a pretty hot commodity on television at the moment, whether it is airing on network tv,  basic cable, or even premium networks.

From IMDB

“A&E is investing in The Returned. The cable network has picked up its take on the French zombie drama straight to series with a 10-episode pickup, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Bates Motel co-showrunner Carlton Cuse will oversee the production alongside Raelle Tucker (True Blood). Cuse penned the first episode and he and Tucker will write and exec produce the series together. Casting will begin immediately on the series, a co-production of A+E Studios and FremantleMedia North America. Production will begin in the summer. Story: ‘The Returned': TV Review With the pickup, the Lost alum will have”

The above shall be known as “The Returned” when it makes it’s American remake debut on A&E

Production is set to begin this Summer……more details to be revealed when available!

Showtime offering Ep.1 of PENNY DREADFUL in advance, for free! Now available!

Can you hold out? Will you hold out? The new Showtime series PENNY DREADFUL, premiering May 11th is advertised as follows….

“An erotically-charged, profoundly unsettling new saga, PENNY DREADFUL completely reinvents literature’s most iconic and terrifying characters. Dorian Gray, Victor Frankenstein and timeless figures from Dracula join a core of original characters in a dark and brutal quest to save a soul — even as they grapple with their own monstrous temptations.”

For those that don’t have Showtime, or just can’t hold out, the first episode has been made available online for free.  Check it out below:
