Evil Episodes #39 – Follow Us to Salem

Welcome back to your bi-weekly dose of small screen terror!

It’s Evil Episodes Podcast #39!

On this edition we start with  rundown of anything horror-related we’ve watched since the last episode including a handful of movies Mike watched over the last week which American Mary, Maniac(original & remake), and Stitches. Listen out for possible extended reviews of any combo of the movies in the future.

 We then get to the normal rundown of TV shows we have been watching and catch everyone up to whatever episodes were current as of the recording (Friday May 4th).  This time The Following was given the extra special treatment as the first season had just wrapped up with one hell of a cliffhanger and all three of us were not only blown away but ready for the next chapter to begin immediately.
Next some news bits were thrown in including some new TV shows in the works for FX, HBO, and MTV, as well as a re-release of a survival horror video game with a new extended Director’s cut.  These might be shows you will want to get the DVR ready for!
We finish up this episode with another special “At the Movies” segment as all three of us saw Rob Zombie’s latest endeavor, Lords of Salem.  Were we bewitched and put under a spell? Did anyone think the movie was more horrid than slime & snails, and puppy dog tails? You won’t want to miss our discussion featuring the very special guest MisfitBoy! ( @Misfitboy69 )

Evil Episodes #34 – Evil Gets Electrified!

 

Welcome to a very special edition of the Evil Episodes podcast!
Patrick cashed in some early vacation time so we are without him for this episode, however we introduce a brand new co-host to the show, someone who has been around the horror podcasting world since the golden age. If you hate surprises you can cheat and look at the show notes, or prepare get surprised with the rest of the listeners (and Jamie too) during the opening segment of the show.
No news segment this week as we spend a healthy amount of time getting the new co-host acclimated and caught up on his thoughts on The Following & The Walking Dead.  From there we welcome in Doug Plamitallo from scaredstiff.tv for his second guest appearance.  Find out about all the new happenings for the horror anthology shorts website and listen as we breakdown and discuss the first episode of the brand new Zombie Chronicles!
Once again Doug was gracious to stick around for our movie review, and boy did he ever make a mistake this week as we all pretty much attack and rip apart Hellraiser: Revelations.  I suppose that is a spoiler, but seriously, has anyone ever heard a single good thing said about this flick, ever?  Didn’t think so!

Evil Episodes #33 – The Abominable Snowman

Welcome to episode #33 of Evil Episodes!

We start off the show with a huge bang, welcoming in a brand new co-host, Patrick, to the show! Everyone say Hello…..Patrick is basically an encylopedia of horror knowledge, especially when it comes to the TV-side.  His expertise was put on display early in often in this, his first episode. Things gets started with thoughts on the first couple of episodes of The Following, as well as what our hopes our for the show and where we hope it doesn’t turn into down the road.
We then transition into the news, which includes some video game news, TV show news, and more of the usual stuff. The main review this week is SYFY’s Abominable Snowman. SYFY has set the standard for movies we watch (so you don’t have to).  Will it be any different this time around? The show finishes out with the final 3 episodes of Season 1 of Tales from the Darkside. Yes, we finally made it to the end of season 1. Hooray! Hope you enjoy episode #33 and you can expect another HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT for episode #34 in a couple of weeks!

Evil Episodes Podcast #32 “Give em a booooody bag!”

Welcome back for the 32nd episode of Evil Episodes!

In this edition we invite Moe (Drunk on VHS, No Budget Nightmares) back to discuss John Carpenter’s 1993 made for TV Anthology special BODY BAGS! Three tales of the macabre that aired on showtime. Do these short stories stand up to the legend of Carpenter? From there Mike & Jamie tackle another three episodes of Tales from the Darkside as we are rapidly approaching the end of the first season….(only 3 more episodes left)! After that those that choose to stick around get a bonus segment of Mike & Jamie going head to head on Texas Chainsaw (Massacre) 3D. If you’ve heard Jamie on the Skeleton Crew’s retrospective, then you already know her general opinion on the movie. Will Mike sway her one bit or will Jamie stand firm on her opinion, don’t wait to find out! All that and the usual news segment and an update on what we’ve been watching to kick off the show!

Evil Episodes Podcast: Episode #30 Dead Souls & Rise of the Zombies

Welcome back to Episode 30 of the show!

In the 30th episode Mike & Jamie begin with an abbreviated news segment as well as some updates on the latest episodes of current Horror TV, including the mid-season finale of The Walking Dead. Mike then gives some brief thoughts on the flick Dark Ride and then we get to our main double-feature consisting of Chiller’s Dead Souls & SyFy’s Rise of the Zombies, brought to you by the legendary Asylum pictures!. After that we welcome back to the show David of Devour the Podcast & Moe Porne of No-Budget Nightmares & Drunk on VHS to share in the “joy” of the latest Tales from the Darkside retrospective segment. We’re gettin’ close to the end of season 1 folks….!

Evil Episodes Thanksgiving 2012 Podcast special……Carving into Thankskilling 1 & 3!

Who’s ready to get stuffed on horror? Well then you probably found the wrong place because on this year’s Thanksgiving special, Evil Episodes carves into no-budget laugh-fest Thankskilling and it’s slighter bigger budget sequel Thankskilling 3! What about Thankskilling 2 you ask? Oh who am I kidding, you didn’t ask.

In addition to the main reviews we include in this short but sweet impromptu episode of the podcast, we play a short piece of listener feed back, discuss a couple movies we’ve watched since the last episode, and wrap-up by giving thanks to some of those that have helped Evil Episodes continue to go strong through the different phases of the podcast!

Evil Episodes #27 – A Grave Encounter with a Monster! Grave Encounter 1 &2 discussed, Monster Squad w/Jack from SlasherCast!

Hello, and welcome back to another installment of Evil Episodes!

It’s Episode 27, and this is another entry that is stacked and packed with all sorts of Horror goodness!

In the latest episode we start off with some news in the world of TV horror including more trailers and promos for the upcoming season of The Walking Dead and American Horror Story: Asylum.
We also touch briefly on the season 7 premiere of Dexter, as well as discuss the latest trailers for The Waking Dead Game (Episode 4:”Around Every Corner”) and Black Ops 2′s first full trailer for it’szombie mode which is promising to be a major expansion on the zombie mode from past entries.

Then we get our monthly DVD releases segment from Jason of Horrorphilia, who always provides a pretty thorough list of just about every relevant release coming your way for the month! Be sure to get the low-down on everything headed to the shelf in the greatest month out of the year for horror!

Next, Jamie conducted an excellent interview with the Vicious brothers, directors of the sleeper hit Grave Encounters, and the writers/producers of Grave Encounters 2. The interview is preceded by our discussion of the original Grave Encounters, and followed by a review of Grave Encounters 2!

But that’s not it (I told you this one was packed) for the final segment of the show, we invite SlasherCastJack from, you guessed it, the Slashercast podcast on to discuss The Monster Squad for the brand new debuting “Introducing Kids to Horror” segment. Buckle your seatbelts as this discussion goes many places….it ended up being pretty unbelievable! Big thanks to SlasherCastJack for joining us!

Evil Episodes Podcast gets a voicemail line….so….use it!

Hey folks. I’ve been kicking around the idea for awhile to possibly add a voicemail line for the podcast.  Well, the time must have been right this past weekend because I went ahead and started one up and made sure to test it before I made this post.

Feel free to leave a message regarding the website, podcast, anything we discuss on either, etc etc…..I plan on playing the voicemails on the podcast as well so that could be considered an added bonus for you to use the voicemail line, right? Sure!  The process is simple, just call the voicemail number listed below and follow the simple instructions and then you’re done!

Hello everyone and welcome to Episode #20 extravaganza which also happens to be our debut on the Horrorphilia network!

This episode is packed, clocking in at just over three and a half hours of horror discussion making it the longest episode to date.
We told you we were going big for Episode #20 and the goods have been delivered!

In today’s show we get started as usual with some horror news followed by a review of Flava Flav’s Nite Tales movie and TV show. Then we are joined by Midnight Corey of The Electric Show podcast as well as former full-time cohost of Evil Episodes, Darrick, to discuss The Walking Dead video game’s first episode. Finally, we welcome yet another guest to the show, NewJerseyNick from Slashercast jumps on board to review the SYFY original flick, Jersey Shore Shark Attack!
