Episode 1 synopsis:

The first look into an ongoing Zombie apocalyptic sexploitation grindhouse horror series. Jessa finds herself captured and tortured by a mad man. Is she going to let this go unpunished?…… I don’t fucking think so!!

Mike reviews , 2009′s AMER; a homage to Giallo, with sprinklings of Argento!

As a fan of Italian horror it may come as a surprise how little I know or have seen specifically of the Giallo sub-genre. I’ve never been quite sure where to jump in. Eventually I will get to that. Perhaps a good start was watching AMER, which is being called a homage to the Giallo genre.  I got a real kick out of this movie. This movie came off creepy, bizarre, and sometimes like a tease.  All sorts of crazy sensations you would hope for.  Assuming that doesn’t give away all of my thoughts on the flick, here is a preview of  the review:

“AMER does not feature a lot of dialogue. However it is not to the films detriment. Quite frankly dialogue is not needed. The score (much of which is borrowed from Giallo classics) and amplified sound effects get the job done.  Ever drip of water, every slam of a door, as well as every gust of wind is focused on so carefully by the filmmakers that you won’t even notice that large parts of the film have gone by without a single word said. We know what the characters are thinking, and most of the time that is plenty.”

Happy Thanksgiving from Evil Episodes!

Hey everyone! Just thought I’d check in and wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. With all the computer (and car) trouble I’ve been having lately, I still have a ton to be thankful for, and some of that being all the readers, visitors, and friends of the website & podcast. Pretty sure I have a solution for the computer situation nailed down, and everything should be back to normal in a week or two.

So I’ll leave you to your holiday bliss and the big feast about to get started by echoing the the words of one of our genre’s biggest icons…..

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

The Walking Dead will continue to walk the earth on AMC beyond season two!

Yep you heard it right. Not that it should come as any surprise, on the heels of shattering all basic cable records for the season 2 premiere, but just in case you needed to know for sure, AMC has officially announced that The Walking Dead has been renewed for a third season!!

“AMC announced today the renewal of The Walking Dead for a third season. Season 2 continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast (The Dead Zone). The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series’ showrunner. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Frank Darabont are executive producers. Greg Nicotero is a co-executive producer.

Having trouble sleeping? Maybe you need more Deadtime Stories?

On the heels of Deadtime Stories vol. 1, comes the trailer for the second installment of the new anthology series. George Romero hosts a trio of stories once again, check out the trailer below:

I’ll withhold my full thoughts on the first volume of the series until I cover it on the podcast in the near future, but it won’t take much to find opinions from around the horror community on it and they aren’t very good to say the least.   On the bright side at least the trailer above makes it seem like Volume 2 will be an improvement, right?

Freddy Krueger’s Mortal Kombat character gets a backstory…..

Following up on a report from a few weeks ago about the infamous Freddy Krueger joining the ranks among Mortal Kombat’s roster of killers, a backstory in the form of a video preview trailer has hit the web today. Check out what brought Freddy Krueger to the Mortal Kombat tournament!

Freddy will be available on Playstation Network for $4.99 and the Xbox Live for 400 Pts tomorrow, August 9th! Still crossing my fingers that eventually they will decide to render a model of the original Robert Englund Freddy Krueger character.
