On the heels of Deadtime Stories vol. 1, comes the trailer for the second installment of the new anthology series. George Romero hosts a trio of stories once again, check out the trailer below:
I’ll withhold my full thoughts on the first volume of the series until I cover it on the podcast in the near future, but it won’t take much to find opinions from around the horror community on it and they aren’t very good to say the least. On the bright side at least the trailer above makes it seem like Volume 2 will be an improvement, right?
Following up on a report from a few weeks ago about the infamous Freddy Krueger joining the ranks among Mortal Kombat’s roster of killers, a backstory in the form of a video preview trailer has hit the web today. Check out what brought Freddy Krueger to the Mortal Kombat tournament!
Freddy will be available on Playstation Network for $4.99 and the Xbox Live for 400 Pts tomorrow, August 9th! Still crossing my fingers that eventually they will decide to render a model of the original Robert Englund Freddy Krueger character.

The time draws closer for An American Horror Story’s debut on FX. As reported some time ago, Glee creator Ryan Murphy has been developing a show for FX which combines drama and horror. I mean hey Horror movies are usually filled with drama, right? No? The synopsis (courtesy of SHockTillYouDrop for the show goes a little something like this:
“Dylan McDermott, Connie Britton and Jessica Lange star. McDermott and Britton play a husband and wife who relocate from Boston to a home in San Francisco that is haunted. The two are carrying emotional baggage, having suffered a miscarriage. An affair was also involved in their past.”
I’ll admit, besides The Oscars I am not really an awards show guy. I understand why they exist and I am not anti-awards show or anything, it is just that most of the time I have not seen at least over 50% of the nominated source material. I find it much easier to try and catch up on movies than TV shows for the purpose of having any context on who I personally feel should win an award. Sitting down to watch an entire season of a television show is a much bigger investment to me than doing the same for a movie. With that said the 2011 Emmy nominations were announced today so lets run down a few of nominees that related to the horror genre! Huge congrats to the following:(clickable images mean there was multiple nominations for the show, & clicking image will take you to full list)

While this might not be the Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash we have all been pining for…..(although according to Freddy vs. Jason producer Jeff Katz it was initially a lot closer to happening then all involved parties would like to admit) I will say this is a pretty valiant effort by this cast & crew of characters:
“Sisters Lucy (Maddie Bright) and Holly (Ashley Brooke) are stranded with their friend Danielle (Erica Lea Shelton) on the roadside as Freddy Krueger (Danny Zetwo) and Jason Voorhees (Cheyenne
Hess) team up to hunt and manipulate the stranded ladies in order to transport Ash Williams (Adam Henrickon) back to this world and
seek their ultimate revenge.”
Pretty cool. I will probably give some more thoughts on this movie on the first episode of EvilEpisodesPodcast which is just a short couple of weeks away now! For all the information on this film including how to order a copy of the film for yourself, please visit the official site HERE!
Not sure if this totally slipped by me on the newswires, or it just hasn’t got much out there yet. From NBC, by way of executive producers David Greenwalt Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Jim Kouf Angel, National Treasure comes a new series based loosely on some of the monsters from The Brothers Grimm novels. Without any further explanation take a look at pretty extensive first trailer for the new series below, which will be followed by a snyopsis found right on the trailer’s youtube page:
“Detective Nick Burkhardt thought he was ready for the grim reality of working homicide in Portland, Oregon. That is, until he started to see things… things he couldn’t quite explain. Like a gorgeous woman suddenly transforming into a hideous hag, or an average Joe turning into a vicious troll. Then, after a panicked visit from his only living relative, Nick discovers the truth about his visions: he’s not like everyone else, he’s a descendant of an elite group of hunters known as “Grimms” who are charged with stopping the proliferation of supernatural creatures in the world.”

AlteredRealitiesRadio is interviewing Joel Bryant of the web series “Suck & Moan” tonight, so full credit goes to Robin & Julie for pointing me in the direction of this hilarious webseries. How would Vampires handle a zombie apocalypse? SuckAndMoan explains below:
Suck and Moan” chronicles the stress filled situations brought upon a group of reluctant vampires, who are forced into a battle with fellow flesh eaters, after their only food source is threatened. Tossing aside the tiresome melodrama of recent vampire lore, this witty web series addresses the smaller, every day issues, facing the undead, and the dangers of over thinking a struggle against the brainless.
So far there are eight episodes for you to feed on, while prepping for Joel Bryant’s interview tonight.(with new episodes posted every Wednesday) Watch the trailer below then head to the official SuckAndMoan website for all the episodes, bios, and information you can sink your teeth into!
