Currently in development for Stream, this game looks like it takes place after a lone survivor of a plane crash tries to survive in a forest.
Armed with what initially looks like only a lighter, the survivor encounters some type of creature (think the creatures from The Descent) in some caves that look to present quite the obstacle to surviving.
I haven’t posted news on this site in awhile. Been really busy lately with the podcast and just life in general. However, I had to throw this up as it is the latest trailer for a game I have had my eye on for awhile. Naughty Dog’s follow up to their smash hit Uncharted series; The Last of Us
“The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character-driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who’s braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.”
With the latest trailer comes the release date, which is May 7th 2013…still a ways out, but trust me, that day is circled on my Calendar for sure now!
I’ll admit it, I haven’t yet dove into the PS3 move yet. I have tinkered with it a bit on a friend’s system, and it was an okay experience. I think the issue is that being a Nintendo Wii owner as well I never felt that the PS3 move did enough on it’s own to bother with another motion controller. However, that may be changing soon with the new game UNTIL DAWN!
Until Dawn features all the elements you’d expect from your favourite teen horror movies: a script that’s funny, sexy and scary; a beautiful young cast; an isolated location; a devious killer; a dark secret and of course that all-important twist. Developed exclusively for PlayStation 3 by Supermassive Games, Until Dawn will make you look at your Move Motion Controller in a totally different way, as it becomes your torch guiding you through the dark as you attempt to survive Until Dawn.
This sort of sounds like you are playing the role of a member of “the teenagers” in a slasher film. On the surface it sounds like an awesome idea. However I also see there being a ton of variables that could make the game a winner or not. Will it be catered to a younger audience, the way most slasher flicks of the modern era are? Will it be void of blood and gore? Harsh Language? Etc etc etc…..pretty much will it be void of all the things we as adult horror fans want in our horror movies/games? Also, being a game that seems to play like a slasher flick, will it have a short running time, aka the length of a typical slasher flick? I noticed in the game notes you can play as any of the 7 characters so I’d imagine there might be some replay ability, but to me that becomes null if all seven characters go through the exact same story/path which leaves the player with nothing new for each play through.
With that said, here is the trailer which I think looks promising and I love the idea that the motion controller will be the player’s torch….hopefully we get more details soon!
If you frequent this site then you are no stranger to the anticipation level I have for Naughty Dog’s latest game The Last of Us, from the studio that brought us the Uncharted series:
The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who’s braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States.
Every time I see new footage of this game I want to get my hands on it early, even more. Unfortunately that isn’t likely to happen, so I will have to wait with everyone else for 2013!
The more footage I see of this game the more I wish it was already available. This latest trailer came out of Comic Con last weekend and introduces gamers to a new character named “Bill”
Abandoned cities reclaimed by nature. A population decimated by a modern plague. Survivors are killing each other for food, weapons; whatever they can get their hands on.
Joel, a brutal survivor, and Ellie, a brave young teenage girl who is wise beyond her years, must work together if they hope to survive their journey across the US.

For those that are too young to have played the earlier Silent Hill games or just completely skipped over the series due to being on Team Resident Evil, there is never a better time than now to experience a couple of the best entries in the series as Konami is re-releasing Silent Hill 2 & 3 in HD for the PS3 & 360. Both games are included in one purchase deemed Silent Hill: HD Collection.
Check out the teaser below and I guarantee your interest will be peaked!
One of the selling points of the upcoming Resident Evil game is that you will be able to play as part of a few different factions. The game’s story itself is a re-telling of the events from Resident Evil 2 & 3. For me this is a welcome plot point since Raccoon City itself has always been my favorite setting for the RE series. Check out the trailer after the jump!
Uncharted has to be one of my favorite new game franchises. The first one was released a bit under the radar, but eventually caught on, while Uncharted 2: Among Theives was my pick for GOTY. I haven’t had a chance to delve into the third installment just yet but reviews from reviewers/critics & fans alike have me feeling it will be another fun time. Now comes the news that Naughty Dog has a survival-horror game in the works titled “The Last of Us”
In fact there is a trailer for it just released at the Video Game awards last night. Check it, along with the official synopsis for the game, after the jump!
